“I believe it is a slur to the committee because we’ve tried to be very, very fair. I find it very distasteful that he was talking for the witness. The witness is the best witness. You cannot supplant a witness with your own observation,” Gordon said.

“Harsh words such as mass murderer is uncalled for. That is reserved for Hitler, that is reserved for Stalin, that is reserved for the president of Cambodia, Pol Pot,” he added.

“There is a process. You do not investigate a president. The only way you can investigate the president is through impeachment.” Gordon added.

Trillanes make his own investigation on alleged of President Duterte against Davao Death Squad during his term as mayor. Earlier, Trillanes said that he will show evidence to prove that the testimony of Edgar Matobato against President Duterte is true.

“We are faced with a very frightening prospect, that of having a mass murdere as president of the country,” Trillanes said. “I am sure that prior to his inquiry, all of us have heard rumours of the Davao Death Squad and that Duterte was somehow behind it.. but we were able to look the other way because it was convenient for us to do so. All that has changed.”

According to Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, while he has no opposition to trillanes motion to investigate Duterte, he will never take I “name-calling” the President.

Senator Miguel Zubiri said calls to investigate Duterte should be brought up before the House of Representatives.
