NDRRMC have enough relief supplies, no need for foreign aid yet
According to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the local government has not yet requested for foreign aid since there have still had enough relief supplies to given out from destruction caused by typhoon “Lawin”.
“So far the local government units and national government still have enough relief supplies to be given to our communities,” NDRRMC spokesperson Romina Marasigan said.
Countries in Southeast Asia showed their assistance but the local government still doing an assessment first of areas affected by the typhoon.
“We will be doing assessment first so we will know exactly what type of aid we will be requesting from foreign counterparts,” Marasigan said.
According to reports, typhoon “Lawin” is the strongest typhoon hit the country this year 2016. there are eight of deaths during the typhoon.
