DWSD Asec. Jose Antonio Hernandez: ‘The war on drugs, it's really for the children’
On Friday, Jose Antonio Hernandez was the Assistant Secretary of Department of Social and Welfare and Development (DWSD) declaring that the war on illegal drugs in the country is for the children.

"The war on drugs, it's really for the children," Hernandez said.
"Ang tinatamaan nito (drugs) at tatamaan pa nito, ang mga bata." He added.
In a press conference, Asec. Hernandez shared President Rodrigo Duterte said while his on campaign for presidency, saying, "Kapag hindi ako kumandidato, kawawa 'yung susunod na henerasyon."
According to Hernandez, the DSWD has been tapped to accommodate surrenderers and the department is planning to manage it.
"Hindi natatapos sa [rehab] center," he said. "Kapag natapos [sa center], lumabas after six months. May 18 months after [as provided by] the law and that will be community-based."
He stated further, "Saan po babalik 'yung drug dependent? Kapag ang babalikan niyan ay parehas pa rin, ulit na naman. Palakasin natin ang komunidad."
"Para maka-take off na 'yung bansa," Hernandez continued. "Masyado tayong busy dealing with domestic woes."
"Tayo naman ang makialam sa ibang bansa," he added.
