According to President Duterte, he admits that there were differences between him and Fidel Ramos, especially in foreign policy.
"Hindi kami nagkaintindihan diyan [criticisms of the US]," Duterte said.
But President Duterte says that he understand when Ramos criticized him for his policies regarding the United States.
"Alam ko pro-Western si FVR. Doon nagaral yan eh. Remember that Ramos [graduated from] West Point," explained Duterte. "Ayaw niya makipagaway."
"Iba si Ramos, iba ako. Baliwala siguro sa kanya yan. Pero kung sabihin ng America, huminto kayo ng patayan diyan, wala na kayong aid, wala na kayong tulong..." Duterte added.
Meanwhile, President Duterte still valued Ramos as an adviser and thankful for what he did in his administration.
"I will still consult with [Ramos] in the future. Yes of course, if he cares to listen. Hindi naman siguro ibig sabihin na nag-resign na siya as a special envoy, hindi na ako makipag tanong sa kanya," said Duterte.
