Achieve! Students of SUCs to enjoy free tuition in 2017 after Congress OKs P8.3-B budget

After the House of Representatives approved the P8.3-billion appropriation, students of state universities and colleges will no longer have to pay tuition fees next year.

“This is a victory for the youth movement which has long fought for the right to education. This is great news for the nation’s youth and their families, especially the poor and marginalized,”

“Perhaps, this is the best news for millennials this year, and one which will have a profound and long-lasting effect on their futures and especially our nation’s,”

In addition, incentives and grants for students and faculty also approved additional funds for 2017.
