Duterte gives greenlight to Bicol airport after 11 years: South Luzon gateway to bring in 1.25M foreign tourists a year
Albay Rep. Salceda praises President Rodrigo Duterte for completion of the P4.8 billion Bicol International Airport project in Daraga, Albay in just a few months.
According to Rep. Salceda, Aquino administration failed in three years, but President Duterte was able to do in just a four months.
On December 8, President Duterte expected to grace the groundbreaker ceremony for the Bicol International Airport.
“We thank President Duterte for this decisive action and we are confident that an international airport will sustain the gains of Albay tourism,” said Salceda.
“Duterte is a good man who genuinely cares for his people – his heart is in the right place so his guts and gut feel honed by years as local chief executive is fit for the challenges for nation building,” said Salceda.
Salceda cited that in the year of 2015, Albay is one of the top tourists’ destination with around 339,000 foreign tourists, but reduced to 8,700 in 2007. Salceda believes that Albay tourism has getting boost after the project done by the recent administration.
