Malacanang says award doesn’t erase Leila de Lima’s ‘complicity’ in criminal activities

Malacanang apparently doesn’t care about Sen. Leila De Lima global awards by an American magazine.

According to Malacanang, it was clueless why foreign policy picked De Lima as one of its 100 Global Thinkers for “standing up to an extremist leader.”

De Lima in a speech in Washington D.C. she said, “I am perhaps most well-known today for having invited upon myself the vendetta of the current President, Rodrigo Duterte.”

But Malacanang was not impressed for De Lima’s speech saying, “We do not know the criteria of the magazine for its selection of global thinkers. Senator De Lima’s award, however, does not diminish the fact that the drug trade proliferated in the New Bilibid Prison during her stint as Department of Justice Secretary,”

“At the very least, she was complicit in the criminal activities going on right under her nose, which is rather unseemly and unthinking on the part of someone who should uphold the rule of law at all times.”

“This is the prime reason why the government is holding her accountable for her action, or inaction, for that matter,” said Malacanang.
