No Leni? No problem: Duterte and his Cabinet men bring aid to typhoon-hit Bicol


President Rodrigo Duterte and his Cabinet member’s visits typhoon-hit in Virac, Catanduanes and Pili, Camarines Sur were the areas heavily hit by Typhoon Nina.



“Members of the Cabinet of President Rody Duterte were summoned to the Villamor Airbase early today to take a day-long trip to the typhoon-stricken provinces of the Bicol Region,” Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol wrote on Facebook.

“The notice to join the President in yet another daring trip to an area where Filipinos are suffering came late yesterday afternoon,” he said.

“I have to wake up at 2 a.m. to be able to catch the 4 a.m. flight from Davao City,” Piñol said, sharing a photo of the team including Energy Secretary Al Cusi, Education Secretary Leonor Briones, Agriculture Assistant Secretary Enrico Garzon, and DSWD Director Carlos Padolina.

While President Duterte and his Cabinet men supervising relief operations in the typhoon victims, vice president Leni Robredo reportedly in a vacation in the United States.
