Sen. De Lima’s trips to US, Germany: I shall return

Senator Leila de Lima said she will be in the United States and Germany to receive an award and speak at the Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy.

Amid the controversies of De Lima’s facing, she promised to her critics to return to the Philippines.

“There is, however, nothing to worry about as I will surely return, along with my staff who will be with me during these foreign visits,” she said.

“I hope my brief absence would provide a welcome relief and respite to my detractors and critics. I will keep them in mind though,” she added.

The senator did not indicate when she will leave the country and when she will return, but saying that, her foreign trips are important to her as a lawmaker.

“This is a great opportunity to meet leaders from various fields from around the world and learn from their respective government’s initiatives and challenges about cultural diplomacy,” she said.
