MVP gives away P2-M worth of phone load to Marawi soldiers

It has been two weeks since the clashes between the Philippine government security forces and the affiliated militants of the Islamic State (IS) including the Maute and Abu Sayyaf groups, , that started on May 23.
Business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan, Chairman of PLDT, announced the distribution of P2 million worth of load for soldiers as part of his company’s relief assistance to the families displaced by the conflict in Marawi.

“Help on its way #Marawi: Rice, water, blankets, dried food, canned goods + Php 2M Load to our soldiers #TulongKapatid,” Pangilinan said.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said that 58 government forces have died since clashes with local terrorists erupted in Marawi.

The clashes in Marawi City had prompted Duterte to declare martial law in the entire Mindanao.

"The many soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines in the frontlines for freedom, peace, and greater good for the nation and its citizens will not falter in their resolve," said the AFP.

"We urge our people to pray for eternal rest for our fallen heroes and those of innocent civilians killed by this group of terrorists, and for the comfort and solace of their bereaved families"
