President Duterte tells media: 'I'm not your enemy'

President Rodrigo Duterte hosted a Christmas Party for the reporters, cameramen, and photographers assigned to cover the Palace.
"Never mind about our relations. It’s always adversarial…. Wala naman tayong galit. We do not fight with each other. I do not hate anybody here or else I would not be inviting you to my place," he said.

"I am not your enemy. Your quest for truth, that is your business, not mine. At the end of the day, it’s not my property. It’s just public interest," he added.

However, the President insisted that there was always another side to every story.

He also said that he would be glad to be a friend to the press.

"Your truth is not my truth and everybody’s truth… There is always two sides of the coin. My truth, your truth, and the public perception," he said.

"In the meantime, we have work to do. You have your mandate, I have my task. If we happen to meet at a corner and agree, it would be good. But if we find ourselves in disagreement, that is part of our territory," he added.

“I was indeed pressured but I did not give in!” pahayag pa ni Ubial

“The pressure was there starting the first day that I became the secretary of Health,” wika pa ni Ubial.

“The pressure was there starting the first day that I became the secretary of Health,” wika pa ni Ubial.

Philippines beats China on economic growth rate

Despite the controversial issue on Human Rights violation being blamed under the administration of  President Rodrigo Duterte, because of his “War Against Drugs” campaign, which is alleged to be the cause of extrajudicial killings in the country, it can never change the fact that these controversials and issues being thrown to Duterte don’t affect the impressive economic growth rate of the Philippines that beats China’s.

According to Panos Mourdoukoutas, Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at LIU Post in New York, based on the information that shows on www.tradingeconomics.com, a website that provides real-time financial market data movements and economic indicators, the Philippines economy grew at an annual 6.9%, which is 0.1% higher compared to China with 6.8%.

“GDP Annual Growth Rate in Philippines averaged 3.72 percent from 1982 until 2017, reaching an all-time high of 12.40% in the fourth quarter of 1988 and a record low of -11.10 percent in the first quarter of 1985” Panos wrote.

According to the World Bank, If the Philippine’s economic growth rate will continue to increase, the Philippines can get the position of 10th fastest growing economy and is expected to advance between 6.5% to 7.5%.

Factors that helped the Philippines on its economic growth are the stable macroeconomic environment, tax reforms, market liberalization, brisk infrastructure spending, and a revival in the global economy.

After Sanofi Pasteur, manufacter of Dengvaxia, disclosed the serious health risks to those who never contracted dengue before they were immunized, it created criticisms and serious issues that involved the innocent children who were given a shot, especially those students of some public elementary schools.

“the health and welfare of personnel, and also their dependents’, is of prime importance and concern to the command group because it impinges on overall police performance; hence, the immediate response to the situation which may cause much worry, if not panic..“ The QCPD chief, PCSupt Guillermo Eleazar said.

“Mainam ding maaga nating maprevent ang mga ano mang sakit, kaya, pangalagaan natin ang kalinisan, hindi lamang sa katawan kundi sa ating kapaligiran, mapa sa ating tahanan man o sa ating mga opisina at istasyon (it’s better to prevent any illness as early as now, so therefore,  let’s work on cleanliness, not only on to our body but also to our environment, may it be at home, at the office, and station) ” he added.
